November 4, 2007: At the SSC of Hawaii, under judge Marsha Bittner, El Solo Serenity (co-bred by Margie Norstrom, Kim Aston and Pete Culumovic, owned by Suk Man Wong and Margie Norstrom) wins WB and AOM.  Littermate Am. Ch. El Solo Infinity wins AOM also, Connor is owned by Margie. They are sired by Am. Ch. Elora Mastequila out of Can. Ch. Laureate Eternity.
 

Paray's Make A Splash (co-bred and owned by Tray Pittman and Paul Flores) is now up to 13 points one major.  "Rainy" is by BISS Am/Can Ch. Hannalore Tiger Rag x Laureate Verona.

October 6, 2007: New American Champion!  It is now BISS Am. Ch. Anamchara Wistwin Aura.  Aura finishes in style at the Interstate Shetland Sheepdog Specialty under judge Yvonne Defreitas.  Aura is by Am. Ch. Macdega Atlantis x Laureate Clair de Lune and was co-bred by Brenda Campbell, Kim Aston and Pete Culumovic.  Congratulations to owners Dianne Hawes (Wistwin) and Brenda Campbell (Anamchara).

NewAmerican Champion El Solo Infinity!  "Connor" was co-bred with owner Margie Norstrom (El Solo Shelties) and is by Am. Ch. Elora Mastequila out of Ch. Laureate Eternity.

September 15, 2007: BISS Anamchara Wistwin Aura wins Best of Breed from the classes at the Detroit Specialty!  This brings "Aura" to 9 points with a 5 point major.  Congratulations to owners Dianne Hawes (Wistwin) and Brenda Campbell (Anamchara). 

July 20, 2007: Laureate Rachel Ray picks up her first two points.  She is litter sister to BPISS/BPIG Ch. Laureate French Laundry and Laureate Lutece (pts).  She is co-owned by Pennylynn Woodruff (Ruffleith).  She is pictured above with Brianna Woodruff winning her class in 9-12 puppy sweeps.

July 1, 2007: New American Champion!  It is now BPISS Am/Can Ch. Laureate Sharrow Chablis, congratulations to co-breeder/owner Margaret Pratt!  "Lucy" is sired by Ch. Laureate Maverick x Laureate Tiramisu.  She finished with three majors handled by Zana Friend and Rachel Pratt.

March 12, 2007:  We attended the Potomac Valley SSC shows in Maryland with our young litter sisters Laureate French Laundry and Laureate Lutèce, pictured above.  It was nice to be back at the shows and we were very pleased with fellow breeders' response to our puppies.  In the classes, Lutèce placed 1st in 6-9 month puppy bitches under judge Ellen Worthington and French Laundry placed 1st in 6-9 month puppy bitches sweeps under judge Cindi Hassrick.

October 27,2006: Lin Battaglia (Agility Ability) reports that at the NADAC (North American Dog Agility Council) Championships, Laureate's Dancin' Chimney Sweep took second place overall in 12" Elite and was the first place overall 12" Chances (Gamblers) Challenge Champion.  He was also named again to the NADAC TOP TEN DOGS List.  Placements were in the following:  2nd Weavers, 2nd Regular, 7th Touch N go, 2nd Regular, 3rd Regular, 7th Tunnelers, 1st Regular, 2nd Jumpers, 1st Regular, 2nd Chances (Gamblers), 2nd jumpers. Sweep is about to finish two more Agility Championships bringing his total to 8 NATCHes!  Congratulations to Lin and Sweep!

Catching up on some show wins, we are pleased to report that El Solo Infinity wins a 5 point major at the Windward Hawaiian Dog Fanciers Association on October 1st, bringing him to 14 points both majors.  Connor is pictured further down on this page and he is owned by co-breeder Margie Norstrom (El Solo Shelties).

New American U.D. title for Jammin' Vertical Velocity RN.  "Gryphon" is sired by Am. Ch. Willow Cove's Wild Card, ROM out of Am/Can Ch. Laureate Jammin' Up The Tempo and is owned by Lori Drouin, and was co-bred by JoAnne Griffin (Jammin' Shelties).

New ROM title for Am. Ch. Krystalyn Laureate Intuition.  Congratulations to owners Linda Profenno (Legends), Jennifer Moore (Con Brio) and Yvonne DeFreitas (Krystalyn).  "Cloe" was bred by Kim Aston, Peter Culumovic and Yvonne DeFreitas.

Maureen Butler (Brockhill Shelties) reports that at the Down East Shetland Sheepdog Club of Greater Portland Specialties in Union, Maine this weekend, "Bentley", BPIS Can Ch. Shelhaven Arnage, went Reserve Winners Dog from the 9-12 month class on Saturday under Ms. B. Schwartz.  He was Best Puppy in Sweeps on Saturday under Dr. D. Dowling and again Sunday under Ms. Lynda Bernier.
Bentley is sired by Ch Shelhaven Counterstrike, ROMC out of Ch. Laureate Ocean Spray. He was bred by Karen and Robert Henley, Kim Aston and Peter Culumovic. He is co-owned with Karen and Robert Henley.  Congratulations Maureen, Karen and Bob!

August 26, 2006: Catching up on some news, we hear that BIS BISS BPIS BPISS Ch Shelhaven Pop'n Up At Talisker "Lilly" won her 17th Best in Show!  Congratulations once again to owner Sharon Ayers!

July 26, 2006: We say farewell to a dear friend "Fannie", Ch. Laureate Espresso.  Fannie was much loved by Phil and Gisela Aston, and was a daughter of "Sparkle" and "Dallas", two of our favourites.  Fannie loved the comforts of life: a soft pillow, a comfy sofa and an occasional squirrel to chase.  We'll miss her sweet face and gentle spirit.

July 17, 2006:  BIS BISS BPIS BPISS Ch Shelhaven Pop'n Up At Talisker "Lilly" won her 15th BEST IN SHOW!  This gives Lilly the record for the most Best In Show wins for a female Sheltie in Canada.  Lilly was shown by co-owner Sharon Ayers (Foley) and it was her dedication to this wonderful girl for achieving such an amazing record. Also congrats to co-owner Todd Foley, and co-breeders, Karen and Robert Henley (Shelhaven).

June 28, 2006: Best in Show number 14 for BIS BISS BPIS BPISS Can. Ch Shelhaven Pop'n Up At Talisker!   "Lilly" is now tied for the highest number of BIS's won by a Sheltie female in Canada.  Congratulations to owner/handler Sharon Foley and co-owner Todd Foley as well as to co-breeders Karen and Bob Henley (Shelhaven Shelties).

Best of Breed for two points is Laureate Cold Play, owned by Sherrie and Cam Sparling and Marilyn O'Donnell.  Breed and Group 4th the following day for four more points!

March 2, 2006: Pictured above is Paray Make A Splash, a beautiful blue puppy sired by BISS Am/Can Ch. Hannalore Tiger Rag (ASSA AOM) out of Laureate Verona (a Louisiana granddaughter).  He is pictured winning a 5 point specialty major under judge Rosemary Petter at the Nor Cal Specialty February 18th.  He also won Best in Sweeps that day under judge Gary Whitmore.

February 12, 2006: We sadly announce the passing of Am/Can Ch. Westwind The Poet Laureate (Robbie).  Robbie was owned by Rita Crawford for the last twelve or so years.  Robbie was the first male owned by our kennel, and was bred by Chris Lynch (Westwind Shelties).  He had an amazing character and a wonderful spirit.
