November 22, 2005: New painting on my artwork page (pictured above).  Several other large scale paintings are in the works and will be featured shortly.

"Sparkle" with Kim in Banff National Park, April 1996.  We were en route to the ASSA National Specialty were she won an Award of Merit.  On October 12th it will have been a year since she passed away.  We still mourn her loss along with her littermate Hannah who had died two weeks prior.

September 16, 2005: New Champion Shelhaven Starmist Centerfold.  "Paige" finishing makes her mother Ch. Laureate Savanna White a ROMC!  Congratulations to owners Karen and Bob Henley, and Dianne Lang-Foster!  We are proud co-breeders.

Show news updates:  Laureate Ice Goddess is up to 8 points one major in the U.S.  She recently won BOB over a Special and Group 2nd.  New Champion Laureate Savanna White.  Thanks to owners Karen & Bob Henley (Shelhaven). 

Can. Ch. Laureate Landslide, ROMC will be standing at stud with Carol Howell (Jade Mist Shelties) after the 2005 ASSA National. 
Can. Ch. Laureate Landau is standing at stud with Dianne Hawes (Wistwin Shelties) in North Carolina.   

August 7, 2005: New American Champion Laureate Divinity!  "Diva" is the third American Champion for both her sire and her dam, and is our 30th American Champion!  Congratulations and thank you to co-owner Hector Hector (Enclave Shelties).

July 14, 2004: New titles for Laureate Dancin' Chimney Sweep, a talented son of "LuAnne" by Ch. Autumngold Laureate Alabama.  "Sweep" is owned and trained by Lin Battaglia, Agility Ability.  Sweep was a NADAC top 10 dog for 2004!  In the past month he earned two Agility Trial Championships at NADAC Camp and Trials in Idaho.  He finished his NATCH and his Versatility NATCH!  According to Lin he is a smooth and fast worker, a great little dog.  Congratulations Lin!

July 11, 2005: Back to back Best In Show's for "Lilly", Multi BIS BPIS BPISS Ch. Shelhaven Pop'N Up At Talisker, owned and shown by Sharon Foley (Talisker Shelties).  Lilly was co-bred by Karen and Bob Henley (Shelhaven Shelties) Congratulations Sharon!

July 9, 2005: Lovely new litter of AOAC puppies.  4 blues, 1 tri by Am. Ch. Macdega Notorious (a Pop Star son) out of Laureate Nuance.

June 24, 2005: We say farewell to one of our greatest producers.  "Kendra" pictured above has left her mark on our kennel, being the dam of seven Canadian and two American Champions.  She was a wonderful friend, a gentle soul.  She will be greatly missed by my mother Janet Aston, Pete and I.

June 18, 2005: New Canadian Champion.  It is now Am/Can Ch. Laureate Latitude.  Congrats to co-owner Liz Boyd-Oliver.  Thanks to Rachel Pratt for handling "Alfie" to his title.

June 15, 2005: Happy Birthday to my sister Jan McIver in Australia!

Catching up on all the show news, Ch. Laureate Landau is now up to ten points with a Specialty major.  He is taking time out to change his clothes.  Our lovely Laureate Ice Goddess now has 3 points in Canada and 2 points in the U.S., Laureate L'Audace is pointed in the U.S. and has two Specialty major reserves.   Am. Ch. Laureate Latitude recently had back to back Best of Breed wins just across the border and has picked up six points in Canada.  Thank you to handlers Nick and Joel (Sunway Presentation), Julie Desy and Rachel Pratt for your expert presentation.

May 22, 2005: At the DC&SSA Specialty Show, BISS Am/Can Ch. Laureate Louisiana wins Best of Breed!  This is the fifth year in a row that a Laureate bred bitch has won this Specialty, and the eighth time in twelve years that one of our girls took Best at the DC&SSA Specialty.  LuAnne also won Breed at this Specialty in 2002 and 2004.  Thank you to Rachel Pratt for your expert presentation, and special thanks to judge Judy Byrne for this honour. 

BIS/BISS Am/Can Ch. Laureate Fifth Avenue wins an Award of Merit at the DC&SSA Specialty.  Congratulations to owners Jo Ann and Terry Pavey (Whitegates).  Tiffany took Breed at this Specialty in 2001 and 2003.

Can. Ch. Laureate Landslide, ROMC sends congratulations to daughter, new Champion Playland Diamond In The Ruff for finishing in style with WB/BW at the Specialty.
"Drew" also congratulates his new Champion son, Ch. StoneMills Sushine Showstopper.  "Icon" is co-owned by Len Dooling (Silverthaw), Kim Hudgins (Stone Mills), and Susan Ling, (Sushine).  Icon finished in style with a Group 1st and Best Puppy in Group!

May 8, 2005: New Champion for Landslide.  Congratulations to Loraine Daignault and Phil Sioui for finishing Ch. Eldee D.J. Hollywood At Bakara.

 Another Best in Show win for Ch. Shelhaven Pop'N Up At Talisker!  Judge was Sue-Ellen Rempel who also gave Lilly a Best Puppy in Show win as a baby.  So it was nice that she still felt she was worthy of the top award.  Congratulations to owner-handlers Todd and Sharon Foley (Talisker Shelties).  "Lilly" was bred by Karen and Bob Henley & Kim and Pete.

April 25, 2005:  We have had the privilege of having shelties grace our lives and enrich us with so many wonderful experiences, but this unquestionably has been our most emotional high.  Words cannot express our gratitude to Mr. Tom Coen and Mrs. Nioma Coen for the honor of our placements at the ASSA National.  We were so happy we could be there to share the moment.

Thank you to Rachel Pratt for making LuAnne look so spectacular, to Zana Friend, Julie Desy, Gini Shaw, Brenda Campbell, Sue McCleverty and Margaret Pratt for all your help when I was unable to participate.

April 20, 2005: I had to go out...the suspense was killing me!  We had two girls in the 9-12 month sable and white class at the 2005 ASSA National, and it was a big class. So on my way back I called Pete who looked up the results, and what a shock, our littermates were first and second place in their class!  Laureate Lourdes (first place) and Laureate L'Audace (second place) are by Can. Ch. Laureate Landslide, ROMC  out of our top producer, Can. Ch. Laureate Meringue (3 U.S. Champions).

April 10, 2005: We are pleased to announce our 29th (bred or owned) American Champion!  Cloe - Am. Ch. Krystalyn Laureate Intuition (Champion producer) finished and in doing so, made her dam Am/Can Ch. Krystalyn Magical Moments (a BISS Am. Ch. Krystalyn Windswept daughter) a ROM!  We are proud to be co-breeders along with Yvonne DeFreitas of three of Kelly's Champions.  Cloe's sire is Am/Can Ch. Legends Scenarion, ROM, and she is owned by Jennifer Moore and Linda Profenno.

March 25, 2005: New photos of Ch. Laureate Landau (5 point Specialty major).  Thanks to Rachel Pratt for grooming "Andy" for the photos.

March 21, 2005: Laureate Divinity wins Group 1st and Group 3rd from the classes (over Specials) for six more points!  This brings her to 14 points, three majors!  Thank you Stephanie Trautman-Riley for handling "Diva" for co-owners Hector Hector, Kim and Pete.

March 12, 2005: Five-Point Specialty major at the Potomac Valley SSC for Ch. Laureate Landslide, ROMC son, Brandina Carmylie Double Digit!  Digit is just over nine months of age, and now is up to nine points and a major!  Judge was Ron Lackey.  Congratulations to breeders Nancy Everett and Jean Simmonds, and owner Nancy Everett.

March 6, 2005: New American Champion Laureate Disclosure!  "Devon" is the second American Champion for his sire, Ch. Laureate Landslide, ROMC.  Thanks to Zana Friend for her professional presentation.

March 5, 2004: We say goodbye to our beloved "Goonie", Laureate Dream West, ROMC.  Goonie was the much loved companion of Janet and Gene Hamelin for the last few years.  Thank you Janet and Gene for loving her as much as we did. 

February 27, 2005: Laureate Disclosure wins his second major!  He is now up to 13 point, both majors.  Thanks to Zana Friend for her expert handling of "Devon".

February 26, 2005: New photos of our four show puppies from the Nikon x Splash litter.

February 5, 2005: At the Calgary Specialty, eleven year old
 
BIS/BISS Am/Can Ch. Laureate Santana (owned and handled by Denise Cornelssen) wins Best of Breed over a quality entry of ninety Shelties!  The judge was Melanie Williams.

Also, a Ch. Laureate Landslide, ROMC son, Dynstar Eterno takes Best Puppy in Sweeps under judge Pete Denbow.  There were 51 puppies competing!  He was also Reserve Winners dog!
Congratulations breeder-owner Leane Lorenzen (Dynstar Shelties).

Congratulations to Nancy Everett and Jean Simmonds, breeders of Brandina Carmylie Double Digit and Brandina Carmylie T For Two.  In their first weekend out they won 4 points and two points respectively.

November 27, 2004: New Champion Playland Ruff Ryder.  Congratulations to breeder-owner Cindy Bays.  "Jake" is the tenth Champion sired by Ch. Laureate Landslide, which gives him the ROMC title!

The first offspring of Ch. Laureate Landau to be shown wins Best Puppy in Show at the tender age of six months!  Congratulations to breeders Guy Jeavons and Mark MacMillan and BPIS Grandgables Who's That Girl.
